Different machines. The S1 is a 40 W laser cutter that cuts 18 mm wood in one pass. The M1 Ultra is a craft machine that also prints in color and cuts vinyl with a blade. If you mainly cut wood, the S1. If you make cards, stickers and decals, the M1 Ultra.

Don't laser-cut vinyl: PVC releases chlorine gas. Use a blade, which the M1 Ultra has.
